Communications satellites come and go with time…and their orbits are often changing. Below is a fairly recent list of the most frequently used C-Band satellites with their relative positions in the sky and the programming that will allow you to identify the satellite.

* Satellite G17 is highlighted in this lineup. G17 is the satellite formerly known as GALAXY 11 and GALAXY 7 and is likely to be stored in your remote control as G7 . However, to find it manually, you can go to Galaxy 3C (G3) and move the dish to the east < (...Galaxy26 (old T6) is no longer in between)….or you can go to T4 and move the dish to the west (>). If you're having difficulty, you may want to consult your satellite technician prior to the sale.
